War on terror computer game

War on terror computer game -

The idea of the game is based on Civilizations, axis and allies ...

To start of, each country will have attributes like -

USA
Power -5
Intelligence - 3
Range -1

Israel
Power -2
Intelligence - 3
Range -4

USA will be the leader of the operation and terrorist groups in the middle east will be the target. The US will have to make allies and destroy the terrorists.

New concepts and ideas

This post has new game (Board, card, computer and analog) concepts and ideas

1. 3d board game - Imagine playing monopoly on a 3d board, one level being different countries and the one above it being restaurants, hotels, casinos ....
This kind of design will add more dimensions to the design and will make things more fun. And of course the 3d board will be a fold able one so that you can carry it to a picnic :)

This is 2 tier serving plate, which could as a model for 3d board games (with out the snow man)

2. War on terror - Please see above

3. A Role playing game based on the Indian Myth Mahabharata

Mahabharata has all the elements that can be put into a game. It has war, romance, betrayal and lots of drama.
I am thinking of a game that has the 5 brothers as the main characters of the game. The story line is based on the myth.
The thing that could be unique about the game is that it uses traditional Indian weapons like a bow and arrow with magical powers on the tip of the arrow

4. Google maps game

The objective of the game is to locate a place on the google earth application using one's geographical knowledge and intuition. The points are alloted according to the zoom level on which the place is identified.

E.g.

Identify this place

Rules:

Only google text search is allowed. No map and image text allowed.
Time constraint of 3 min

5. Thanksgiving shopping game

You have 500$ and your target is to buy stuff that is worth 1000$ (normally) on black friday (next to thanksgiving day). You will have 2 agents who can stand in queues for you and can buy stuff. Your mission is to strategize your people so that they can stand in the right line.

6. Mouse vs. Keyboard

Play the same game first with the mouse then with the keyboard. This game challenges you to find the difference between the two.
E.g.

Play the same game - Archanoid first with the keyboard and then with the mouse

Just do it

Too often we are scared.
Scared of what we might not be able to do.
Scared of what people might think if we tried.
We let our fears stand in the way of our hopes.
We say no when we want to say yes.
We sit quietly when we want to scream.
And we shout with the others,
when we should keep our mouths shut.
Why?
After all,
we do only go around once.
There's really no time to be afraid.
So stop.
Try something you've never tried.
Risk it.
Enter a triathlon.
Write a letter to the editor.
Demand a raise.
Call winners at the toughest court.
Throw away your television.
Bicycle across the United States.
Try bobsledding.
Try anything.
Speak out against the designated hitter.
Travel to a country where you don't speak the language.
Patent something.
Call her.
You have nothing to lose
and everything
everything
everything to gain.
JUST DO IT.

Number jumping

The Number jumping game

Number of players: 2 (one white and the other black)

Objective : Similar to chess, eliminate all the numbers of the enemy. The white cards have to eliminate all the black cards for the white to win.

Game play:

White starts the game. The player can chose any number and move it either diagonally, vertically or horizontally. The number of steps the person takes is based on the number on the card. E.g. The player moves the number 6, he moves the card 6 times up(vertical). The player has to stick on to the orientation, he cannot move 3 steps vertically then 3 steps diagonally.
The cards can rebounce on the walls and still maintain the same orientation.

Special features:

The 'X' spot is where one card can rest and not be eliminated unless the enemy surrounds it on all the 4 sides. There are warp zones for each of the sides to help avoid the danger.

Game for “The bonus years diet”

The challenge was to come up with a game that incorporates the techniques used in the book “The bonus years diet” by Dr. Ralph Felder and Carol Colman

The game:
  • It is flash based
  • More like a "Platform setting"
  • Single player
  • Objective is to increase life index by creating the correct recipe

The objective of this flash based game is to change a skinny guy to a healthy man. The scenario is set in the kitchen. You start off being a skinny guy.

Starting state ------->

<------Life index = -10 Life index = +5 ------->

You have the entire kitchen with all sort of utensils and groceries. Now going along with the recipes in the book you have to cook a meal. If you put in the right ingredients your life index increases and your body becomes healthy. If you create a wrong recipe or go with the wrong combination your health worsens.
In the process of the game, as the player is in the kitchen he does virtual cooking. There is a time involved in the cooking process, indexes for sweetness,sourness,salty... this makes the game realistic and also make the player memorizes the recipe.

My Favorite game

Age of empires

Reasons why I like the game:

  • Not heavy but good graphics – Very less real time rendering, the game works really well in low end PCs too, I used to play it on a Celeron 466 MHz
  • The Game play involves an amazing amount of strategy – Managing citizens and armies simultaneously. This was not unique to this game but I liked the balance of strategy here
  • The Navigation and the functionality of the game were excellent. Using short cuts like “.” To find a free citizen was good
  • Engrossing story board, especially the one with William Wallace. It is like history retold.
  • The concept of having a complete war of the medieval times is amazing … all the details of the war are well designed. Like only Bowmen can kill Cavalry.
  • The concept of evolution from castle age to medieval age is unique
  • Different modes of the game like Regicide, Death match … can make if fun, regional changes like winter, desert, archipelago all make it challenging
